Myseff and 14 other pals will be going to Borovets later this year and don't know which hotel to stay at. After lookijng around the Rila or Samokov look the best, but which is better?
Having stayed in the Rila 5 times now I would say the Rila. It's been renovated 2-3 years ago and although the rooms are all equipped Ikea style it is a comfortable place to stay. There's a nice pool and sport facilities all upto today's standards. All I can say about Samokov is that, since the 1st year we came, it seems to have gone down hill and could do with some renovating. Rila is right oposite the 4-seat lift at one end of the main street where Samokov is at the other end of the main street right oposite the Gondola. As far as we've heared the food is the same in both, meaning that if you're not too fussy you should be OK.
Both of the mentioned hotels are good although I think the Rila is a little more plush. It also has great views of the floodlit slope. I stayed in the Royal which is also a 4 star and I think is even better than the other two, although you did need a bus shuttle (free) from the hotel to the main resort
The Samakov is regarded as the more up market of the two, but to be honest that doesnt really matter if your there for the skiing, both have good pools, the Samakov has an upmarket restaurant up top which everyone seems to forget about, theres more to do in the samkov, night club/ten pin bowling/ health centre/pool both types swimming and table, table tennis/ damned fruit machines and other arcade machines, and a small shooting range/vodka bar/ice cream bar and crepe stall. Weve changed back to the Samakov this year because we wont be using the nursery slopes and its right next to the gondala, and were lazy b******s. You wont go wrong with either, hope this helps
We are due to fly out to Bulgaria and are due to stay in the Hotel Samakov. However we have heard mixed reports about the hotel can someone please give us some helpful comments . Im in need of sme help !!!!!
Hey Sezi,
nice Hotel but out of centre, if I'm right 3km away from the nightlife and skiing, for this I believe you will have a skibus free for charge, but for anything else you have to walk or take a taxi.
