Which ski area is better for kids?

Can anyone tell me which area is best for kids as I have heard Bansko isn't the best?

Hi Housty

In my opinion I think Borovets is great for kids, although I must add I haven't been to Bansko or Pamps.

After 5 years visitng Boro, the best thing is that it is a ski in/out resort. This means at the end of the day you can sit in a bar at the bottom of the Rila slopes and watch the kids skiing / tobboganing / playing till late as there is night skiing so the slopes are floodlite.

My kids loved Boro, instruction was excellent and they loved the independence.

Must add there are a few lap dancing bars in the resort but when we went they weren't in your face. Maybe a few 'sexy' posters around but my kids just laughed them off. It certainly wasn't an issue.

The Bulgarians generally love kids and will try to do anything to accomodate them in restaurants.

Where ever you choose to go I'm sure you'll have a lovely time

I will be with 3 kids, Snow plough / Tom and Paul in Boro on the 28th and they seem to enjoy themselves.
On a more serious note how old are your Kids and how experienced.

I took my kids for their 1st ski holiday to Bansko and they loved it they had a private instructer for the two of them for 3 1/2 days which was very cheap and they had a fab time and are both natural ski iers now.( Age 9 & 11). All pubs / restaurants were great with them to the point they went out there way to ensure they cooked them something they liked as most kids they are fussy eaters.

I taken my various aged kids to Borovets and all have really enjoyed it. So much that my now 20 year old wanted to come this year with her younger brothers. My 5 year old has been in 3 different ski schools at the resort and he just loves it and we have never had any problems. His mum tends to ski at the same school so they can make contact if required. My kids are now 20, 2x15, 5 and have been 3 times each except my daughter who came once 5 years ago.

re: Which ski area is better for kids?

Well, I've not skied Bansko or Borovets but can say that Pamporovo is great for kids (I have 3 aged 13,10 and 7) - skied many places in the Alps and found Pamporovo the best place in terms of ease of getting around and things to do. They've not had lessons but all my guests report good things about the Pamporovo ski school. Mine are going to be beginner snowboarders this year so will experience it for the first time!
