Why men don't write advice columns

A copy from an advice page in our local paper. I don't know why but Paul, the columnist, got criticised for his reply. Looks good to me.

Dear Paul,
I hope you can help me here.

A few months back I was on a skiing holiday in Bulgaria with my husband and our best friends family. It was my first time skiing so I had joined the ski school while my husband and friends were skiing the more advanced runs. My classes started at 10am and the others usually stayed in the Hotel for a short while before starting their skiing. One morning I set off towards the skischool, I had to ski down a very slight incline to join the rest of the class on the Nursey slope, but I found that my skis were sticking in the snow and I could not slide at all. I walked back to the Hotel to see if my husband could help.

When I went into our Hotel room I couldn't believe my eyes. My husband was in bed with my best friends daughter. He is 44 and my friends daughter is 20. We have been married for ten years. I confronted him and he admitted that he had been carrying on behind my back for the past six months. I told him to stop or I will leave him. I still love him but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. He won't go to counselling and I'm afraid I am losing him. Can you help?

Sincerely, Debbie.

Dear Debbie,

Skis sticking in the snow is usually down to them not being sufficiently maintained and waxed. It is important to keep sharp edges and a smooth underside. A good ski stockist will smooth and edge the skis and you will be able to buy a good quality wax yourself. I would recommend Hertl White Gold ski wax although cheaper alternatives are available. Apply regularly and be sure to store your skis correctly at all times.

I hope this helps,
Paul
