Why this forum is so good...

This is just my point of view and should be taken as such, but the reason why I enjoy this forum so much is because of all the good banter between total strangers, some of whom have never skied before and others who have been skiing for many years but keep returning to Bulgaria and the fact that, generally, the type of people that book skiing holidays in Bulgaria are not "blinded" by all the flashy, expensive, image conscious, self-praising, stuck-up, unfriendly, materialistic people that ...

I say, GREAT! At least that will keep what makes Bulgaria so special, special. People like that will do nothing but ruin our holidays. Yes, it's no surprise that Bulgaria may be a "developing" country with all the political and economic traits associated with such a status but my experiences travelling the world have shown me that it is those such countries that are the most enjoyable, have the strongest cultures and identity and with friendly and hospitable citizens who, even though they may not have very much, are willing to do whatever they can to help you out.

Long may Bulgaria retain its ways and the citizens retain their identity, heritage and good natured spirits! Very Happy

Well said. This will be only my second time to Bulgaria but I've never found an active forum with such a wealth of information dedicated to where I'm off before! Very Happy

Right on bro' - I remember getting strange (you must be skint) looks from people when I said I was going to Bulgaria - for 3 years on the trot!
Couldn't afford aour usual upfront booking this year for BLG so am having a cancellation (for nowt!) week in Italy and then having a cheapy in Pamps late in Feb. By the way, I'm shocked by some of the Pamps Hotel reports this year - been there in 2004 and 2005 and can't speak too highly of the place - so much so that I recommended it to ...

I agree, it is a really cool forum where you can chat with people who are in the same boat. Saying that, if i read one more snow prediction im gonna crack up (and yes i understand everyone is worried etc).

Bulgaria is a special place and i dont know why anyone would feel at all embarressed about the destination of their holiday. Just because we havnt followed the masses and gone to france etc. Variety is the spice of life and enjoying new cultures is half the fun of going on holiday ...
