Hi all, I'm going to Bansko on 25th march, Will there be snow???!! I read somewhere that theres snow deep into april but does anyone know for sure that the end of march is still white?Also, do you have to pay for the Gondola, can you walk to the lifts?

No one can no fo sure Lewis impossible mate. Very good chance though as Bansko is the highest resort in Bulgaria and was skiing into May last season.

cheers for that i'll sleep a bit better now! As long as a fair few of the slopes have enough snow then thats good enough for me as i think i'll be taking a while to get down them anyway

re gondola and lifts - the gondola is the first lift you have to go through with a ski pass, and it's easy to walk there from the centre of town, though most hotels provide a complimentary bus.
Global warming is affecting the snow conditions, the ski school teachers were talking about it and it was a massive issue in the USA last year. Lets hope the new developments in the town are going to be as sustainable as possible (some hope i realise)
