Hi Guys,
Not sure how many of you use Wizz Air or know about the account discount, but with everyone looking for cheap flights, I thought this may help...
Wizz fly from Luton to Sofia and offer the chance to open a Wizz Account Plus - I fly every week with them from Sofia to Luton (in and out on the same day) and use them simply due to the timings, but also because of the bonus you get. If you open an account with them, you get 15% discount if you put in 400gbp, 25% discount if you put in 800gbp. So basically, you nearly get one flight for free or at least the cost of the baggage. You can book flights for up to 5 different names but the account holder must be travelling on the same booking. If you don't have enough credit, you can pay the remainder by card, or if you have any left after you have booked it carries over to your next booking and is valid for 365days. You pay 10gbp to load money into the account, but then no additional card fees after this.
EG: I load my account with 1000euros (over the phone by card) and then they credit the account with 1250euros. I then book all my flights using wizz account plus and they just deduct my flights from the balance in the account - this way, I get 250euros worth of flights free. It can only be used for flights operated by Wizz air Hungary but they operate the BG / UK route.
So...for anyone thinking of coming out of Luton, I would recommend you open the account first and then book your flights so you can use your bonus money.
Hope this helps!
Kas
p.s. before you ask, I'm not on any commission for this!!!
This is very interesting - thanks for the info! I guess if you don't use your credit in the 365 days you lose it then?
Sounds like a good idea for frequent travellers but I don't spend £400 per year with Wizz so i guess I can't use it.
It is basically for the frequent flyer, but can also be used by family friends etc as you can book up to 5 different names on the same booking as long as you / account holder is one of them.
I am also pretty sure you could use it even if you don't use 400gbp in 1 year..... The balance in the WIZZ Account is available for 365 days after payment into the account is made and any balance left in the account upon expiry will be lost BUT you don't have to fly within this period - ...
Hi Matt,
It is basically for the frequent flyer, but can also be used by family friends etc as you can book up to 5 different names on the same booking as long as you / account holder is one of them.
I am also pretty sure you could use it even if you don't use 400gbp in 1 year..... The balance in the WIZZ Account is available for 365 days after payment into the account is made and any balance left in the account upon expiry will be lost BUT you don't have to fly within this period - eg: you could book one flight say now for march 2011, you could then wait until next year (say October 2010) and book another flight for march 2012. As long as you 'spend the money' in the account in 12 months, it doesn't matter if the flights are 18months apart...
Just re-read this and not sure if that makes sense?!
I have flown wizz air a few times and things they are pretty good. The only reason i wont use the at the minute is the flights times from sofia 6:00am. To get from Bansko it means leaving at about 1am. Not family friendly!!
Yeh - I know the times are pretty grim, but for anyone booking a party of 4 or 5 , they can get up to 200gbp of credit for free, so the early mornings may be worth it for some people.
