Worried about Boro?

I must admit I am getting a bit concerned about the reviews/reports on various sites about the Mafia and lots of things being stolen from hotel rooms, dishonest Hotel staff, and people claiming Borovets is a very shady resort.

It doesnt sound very friendly to me and It sounds like a nightmare!

Oh well we go on 29th Jan! Should I still look forward to it?

Confused

Don't believe all the drivel as they obviously have no idea what they are talking about! You are always going to isolated incidents in EVERY country, even Britain, but I certainly wouldn't go round professing that that is the "norm".

Don't worry, you'll have a great time. Especially, if you get the snow conditions that is just about to hit Bulgaria in the next week.

Yes you should and stop getting worried as you will be fine, sure things get stolen but no more than they would from any other place in the world that you might go on holiday! Just get yourself a safety deposit box for peace of mind and you will be fine.

Can't be a nightmare. Far more people raving about the resort than not. doesn't matter where you go in the world there are always going to be dodgy people but the 99.9% of good people make up for it.
Don't pay too much attention to any reports about mafia or the like. Just treat it like all other holidays and you will have a great time.
A lot of serious criminal gangs in London but it doesn't stop millions of people visiting it every year.

We got back from there on the 2nd and i don't know where these people stay when they say these things,as we had the best time ever, it is the same anywhere you go they tell you to keep your money and valuables in the safety deposit boxes, we did not here or come across any mafia, again they are all over the world, and the people were really friendly, great with kids also, made you feel welcome, food good resort excellent, as for it being a shady resort, there are a couple of adult bars and ...

re: Worried about Boro?

Daz, don't be worried. I've been three times, and never had any problems. Having said that, common sense plays a part. Would you leave a wallet/handbag on top of the table while you went to the loo?, some people do, then are surprised when it gets nicked, then blame everyone else, and the resort for their mistake. As mentioned before, get yourself a safety deposit box, and use it. I use a neck pouch, for passports credit cards etc etc. On one stupid occasion, I left it in the bar we'd been ...
