First things first…this forum is brilliant….I’ve found so much info through the different threads! Thanks 2 all…We will b traveling to Bansko for the first time this Christmas…and really can’t wait to going down those ski slopes
Could anyone recommend things to do on Xmas Eve and New Year’s Eve in Bansko – will there be organized parties in pubs or any street parties / activities worth going to?

Hi DanOoooh lucky you out to lovely Bansko for Xmas and NY. I shall be back there in March (if not before) for my 3rd visit. Love the place! I don't know of any set activities but I am sure there will be lots going on and a fantastic atmosphere in the pubs etc. It is great there generally so I am sure at Christmas it will be even jollier! Hopefully you will get some further replies to your post and if anyone knows anything specific going on at Chrimbo please let us know!

I was there last year for New Year and it was EXCELLENT!!!!!!! Very busy, as I think all the locals head there so make sure you book into a restaurant for New Year's Eve. Watch out for the raki, there is a reason why people call this drink "firewater". One phrase you will need is Chestita Nova Godina = "Happy New Year!", oh and of course Narzdravae = "Cheers!" (Spellings are not correct, I've spelt them how we pronounced them). I had a brilliant time, we're heading back this season ...

I had a great time there last Xmas and am returning on Dec 24th. It was a bit low key compared to here with no problems getting fed and watered.re: Xmas and NYE in Bansko
thanks for d info! i'm happy to hear that d atmosphere will b a good one. we have both xmas eve and nye dinner booked at d same hotel we're staying in...but after that we will go down to d bars and try out some raki thanks for the phrases mandy sure they'll come in handy!suzie...i'll b d fastest girl on d slopes...u wont b able to miss me...or maybe yes seeing i'll be travelling at d speed of light ...lol
