Xscape or Snowdome

My 17 would like to give boarding a try, having only skied before.Thought about booking lessons for his birthday .We are in Northants so not a great deal between journey time to either m/k or Tamworth .Any views as to best choice would be helpfull ?

MK a lot more expensive, Tam the snow conditions arent quite as great, but wider... cant really remember much bout MK but i go tam a lot. Id suggest going for a late session or mid - day when its not too busy if u go tam

re: Xscape or Snowdome

MK is more expensive but much safer.

At Tamworth nobody seems to know the 'rules of the road' or if they do, they choose to ignore them.

I have been knocked over, run into and wiped out (as have many others) many times at Tamworth by inconsiderate skiers & boarders.

Even if it isn't as big as Tamworth MK is a more pleasant experience where people seem to be more polite, considerate, aware of their surroundings and safer skiers/boarders all round.

re: Xscape or Snowdome

I went to the snowdome on Friday in the morning. It started off badly. When I arrived the paramedics were securing someone to a backboard and wheeling them out to an ambulance, that kinda puts you off.
It was really busy with lots of people taking lessons and alot of kids there. Towards the end there were lots of large ice patches too, it was a bit iffy......
There were quite alot of crashes though which were not attributed to the ice.

Prefer Xscape (castleford) to Tamworth Snowdome. Agree with the comments on getting wiped out in Tamworth, it's a bit of a free for all. Xscape was much nicer.

re: Xscape or Snowdome

went to mk last friday and they had signs up saying that surface was below standard and icey. i fell over on my way down and was laughing about how i was to get up when a lady hit ice lost control and crashed in to me. she broke my Ulna and i am now in plaster up to my armpit. do not go if you are a beginner as the slope is narrow and you need to be very sure of your turning ability.
