I have been an avid reader of this forum ever since I booked my holiday to Borovets for late December.
We are staying the Yagoda Chalets, does anyone know anything about these? I have beens earching around but haven't been able to find out anything at all like, facilities at the complex (ie. bars/restaurants), what the chalets are like inside etc.
The chalets are comfortable and warm - alittle too warm at times to be honest. Do NOT go expecting to self cater. The chalets do not have the facilities for this, breakfast was fine, and there really is a very limited supply of food in Borovets to do this anyway.
The restaurant on site was very good if you were eating off the menu - the buffet meal looked ineteresting but we obviously didn't have it as we were room only.
The ski bus takes you into ...
We stayed there in 2003!!

The ski bus takes you into Borovets each morning without any difficulty. We found the evening service limited and tended to catch a taxi back later. 10 lev = £3.
We felt it was a little too far out of town and certainly too far to walk with a 5 & 7 yr old but we did see others making the journey.
We exchanged money in the reception area and used the safety box for our valuables. The ladies cleaned each morning if you left the catd asking them to in your window.
There is a full size fridge and 2 ring burner. A couple of pots to make coffe/tea etc. Plenty of hot water in the shower. We didn't use the sauna - some chalets have them ours didn't. There is one located in receprion.
It is a very pretty set up especially if it has snowed overnight and the trees then look beautiful.
hi tom me and our crew have and are staying there in feb 6 05 they are cleen very warm and very quite. They are set in the woods ,we once ate at there bar but now we get taxi 10 lev or they provide a free bus service into town
Have been for the past two years! They are great and much prefer to stay at the yagoda than any of the big hotels in the town! Seems alot of property thefts take place at the big hotels but have never heard of any at the yagoda. dont expect a 5 * room but they are clean and nice and quiet at night! ENJOY MY FREIND!!!
Can I ask please, how far exactly these chalets are to borovets centre. We are quite a fit and active family and prefer to walk when possible. Plus begrudge giving taxi drivers money!! Rather save it for the beer.
We have a 10 year old and 6 year old, both happy to walk, but how far is it please. (Old measurements please. Too old for kilometres! )
