If there is money to be made Ryanair will and can do it.
Basically boils down to
Getting a good deal from the airport on landing charges etc
and a steady flow of passengers.
If you can travel with hand luggage and skis only, book you ski carriage for free in one of their pre winter sales , dont buy refreshments on the flight and can avoid the credit card charges, you can expect return flights for 40-100 stg return incl skis.

who said thet were for the summer.definately not it will be winter.
and they will fly from Bristol Stansted Dublin liverpool and Preswick. watch this space Dec 10 to Apr 11
These things dont hapen overnight, this may ( i say may) tie in with the fact that Bristol Airport applied for a route to Plovdiv, must be 18-24 months ago, we though it would be for Easyjet but this could be for Ryanair, i sincerely hope so as ill be booking a season ticket
As far as i have been told Ryanair tried to link up with Sofia airport for Irish flights, but Sofia would not come to reduced prices Ryanair wanted. So the next step was Plovdiv... this is going to be a while down the line and will def' benefit next winter season for the Irish tourists. A direct flight after Airlingus stopped theres in the summer. Irish families I have been taking back think that it is very good news......
I personally think that a route to Plovdiv could operate all year round not just for the ski season for tourists, every time me or the wife travel to Sofia with Wizzair or Easy jet 80% of the people on the flight are Bulgarians either buisness men or or people living in the UK going home to see family or family coming over here to visit etc and these are not peak times also flights are always full/busy and Ploviv is pretty central and easy to get in and out of.....

He stopped going to Malmo when they pushed up prices and I think he pulled out of one of the Spanish airports when they tried to renegotiate.
