I am looking towards buying a property near Borovets but considering a place called bolna banya, it is close to golf courses so I could maybe get rental in the summer too. Its a 2 bedroom house that sleeps 6, I would be after about £400ish per week.
My question to all is that as it is exactly 17-20 mins from Borovets centre, would users of this site be willing to travel this distance to get into the ski resort?
Dolna Banya to Borovets is a bit more like 30mins and that is when the road is good. i.e. no snow. Also be careful as the Ibar course in Dolna Banya are currently stating that only people who own property on the course there can play golf there. If your property is not on the course you should check out if you can play there
Bit too far out for my liking, dont mind a 10min walk or a couple of mins in a Taxi but if like skiman says it can be +30mins if the roads are bad then its to far for me, sorry.
I've bought a house in the same village. If you're looking to buy in Borovets, there's a building freeze on a 20 mile radius I believe, so you're not going to get a new property much closer. Plus there's agreed plans to build 2 ski runs just outside the village.
I understand that the golf course will accept non-residents and apparently this area is popular with Bulgarians living in Sofia for weekend breaks.

Hi Alan,
I've bought a house in the same village. If you're looking to buy in Borovets, there's a building freeze on a 20 mile radius I believe, so you're not going to get a new property much closer. Plus there's agreed plans to build 2 ski runs just outside the village.

All property has risks but I think I've made a good investment - fingers crossed hey!
There are two points of view with regard to the golf course - one if that it is exclusive to Ibar and the other that as its built on municipality land it will be open to all. One thing is certain is that Ibar will not care after they have sold the last unit they intend to build, but until that time will be telling everyone that its exclusive. Whether you believe them is up to you...
