a question for anybody....

we have spent new year for the last 2 years in Borovets and had a great time and were amazed how cheap eating and drinking etc was,we convinced family to go to Bulgaria this xmas and they chose Pamps,just got back and they loved the place but said it was a lot dearer than they thought it would be,last year we were paying 3.5 to 4 levs for a beer ,they said they were paying a lot more than that (up to 8 levs) for a beer is this a severe rise or is it because different resort or are they ...

Only thing I found really pricey in Pamporovo this year were the taxis.

When we went in 1994 it was 3 leva for a taxi from Pamporovo centre to the slopes. Now it is 15 leva.
Other than that, the prices have stayed very much the same. Brandy and diet coke (large measure) 5 leva.

Local beer 4 leva a pint. That was last week in Pamps.

15m lev now. That has gone up again since January. Things have cerainly moved up a little since I first went in 98 more so on the mountain. But it is still great value. Where else can you eat out with a couple of beers for around £15 for 2 people?
