another question about orphanages in Bulgaria.... sorry!!!!
sorry, dont want to start another debate about too many threads regarding orphanages and pamporovo, I would really like to bring out some things in Feb but we will be staying in Borovets. Can you only bring things over if you are staying in Pamps? if not, does anyone know where i would i have to take them?
thanks in advance

caroline,
A couple of people are doing this and have arranged to meet Amanda or her partner at Sofia airport . If you log on to www.orphanagestoikite-bg.org it will give you the contact information, etc.

HAPPY AND PEACEFUL NEW YEAR TO ALL.
Hi Glynis,
The best thing is to email Amanda to see if she or Doug, her partner, is in Sofia at the time of your arrival or departure so they can collect from you at the airport, or perhaps arrange something else for collection.

no need to be sorry , we should start collection points across the uk. then get the various tour operators to transport out on the flights at the end of the season.
and then use this site to boycott the operators that dont help.

there are other orphanages as well, theres one just outside Dupnitza, that suffers from lack of everything as well, and this is close to Borovets. As its in a small village it too tends to be forgotten about

I have been thinking about this to. As much as the Stoikite orphanage needs help there are possibly so many others that are tucked away and forgotten about. perhaps some of you that regularly visit Borovets or Bansco could liase with some of the locals and find somebody you can trust and would be willing to take donations to help their local orphanage. However, I stress "trust" as I have heard so many stories - please never just hand over money or goods as the children MAY not benefit ...
