skiing was we stayed in Pila resort which is up the Mountain and that wasnt great for night life, theres an ice rink and some bars but felt a bit let down. Gondola goes down to the village but closes (from memory) about 7.30pm and taxis were not cheap!!
Some great runs from the top, especially the very top black, bit narrow mind you!!!
we had a great week loads of mileage, and witnessed a helicopter rescue from about 10m!!!!!oh and its where i bust a ski
Yeah we had a great time , there arn't too many bars but the later you go out the livlier they get .
There are plenty of runs to keep you going and we also had a day out to sestrire which was good .
Wife and I have been to Pila 3 times. Excellent skiing from wide open blues to good reds, small half pipe and a couple of good blacks.
The view from the top two peaks are great. Try this link to Interski as they only go to the Aosta valley http://interski.co.uk/index.htm and their site has some good webcams.
Your ski pass will also cover you for a days skiing at both Courmayer and La Thuile too.
We stayed in the town of Aosta at the bottom of the gondola. It's an old Roman town ...

We stayed in the town of Aosta at the bottom of the gondola. It's an old Roman town with a number of bars, bowling alley etc.
Wife would like to go back there every year if she could, but I've out skied it.
