back from boro

Just to let you all know we're back from Borovets, 1st time skiers.

Had a great time learning to ski, instructor called Angel was great, snowed up to Wednedsay, there was ice though - I found out the hard way when my skis decided to go the opposite way from were I wanted them to go.

Our 13 year old had a blast and even skied from the top gondola to the bottom of the mountain under supervision

Food in the Ela was ok, eating out was better, best place we found was Franko's pizza, ...

Food in the Ela was ok, eating out was better, best place we found was Franko's pizza, always packed so book a table.

Did struggle to find the cheap beer , there is always a happy hour somewhere though.

For all of you wondering wether Borovets is good enough for you - don't, it has most things for you to get by for a week, good food, reasonable snow and a great party atmosphere, Apres ski sets you up for a good night out, especially the hot chocolate and Brandy.

Anybody needs to know anything, just ask.

Cheers

Hi Gary

Well done, another great report. Glad that you had a great time with plenty of snow. We always go to Pamps but its nice to hear that other resorts are good too and it helps 1st timers to make up their own minds with the information that is posted on this site. Glad you had a good time. Just 11 days to go for us, can't wait. Wink Very Happy

re: back from boro

Hey Gary -
Did I eventually meet you then? If your instructor was this really skinny guy called Angel Vukadinov, whom his group seemed to think the world of and call him 'ugly' (heh heh) then I was about at the end of the week.

Same reply as Michael

Do not hire your gear when you get there, pre-book it, we paid £90.00 to hire all the gear including lift pass and tuition.
