Got back from pamporovo saturday, heres the report.
Two of us went and stayed in Hotel Rozhen (2 star). The Hotel was basic, but fine. Rooms ok. bathroom with toilet shower, 2 single beds (my freind hated the cheap foam materess, I'll sleep anywhere) and balcony. Also TV in room (all channels bulgarian and a few German). The heating in room was warm rather than hot, but OK. The food was basic, school dinner / works canteen style (common in all cheap bulgarian Hotels) but always Hot. But ...

But eating out is so cheap, so you dont have to eat it every night. The Hotel bar was great, Nice beer and 12 inch Pizzas for 5 lev (about £2.00). Hotel populated mainly by Bulgarians and about 20 Brits. Also 'Night Flight' nightclub in hotel basement. Good fun.
If you want a cheap basic, friendly Hotel in good location, and want to mix it with the bulgarians as well as fellow brits then this is the hotel for you (and me). If you are used to posh 5 star hotels then perhaps look elsewhere.
Skiing was good, weather a bit clouldy / misty and somedays cold at top of mountain (-20). but didnt stop the fun, in fact sking in a snow blizzard, -20 and no visibility just added to the adventure.
Quallity of ski hire equiptment has improved, since last time in Pamps (2002). All good quallilty Orion or Rossinol carver skis, but some of the ski boots are a bit old.
Ski school as usual is excelent, with fantastic instructors. We were starting at 10:00 am and finishing about 3:30 / 4:00 pm.
There were a few power cuts one night, but again didnt spoil my fun (or the steak and chips in the white hart).
On a slight down note, prices seem to of increased. Its all still stupidly cheap, but just not as cheap as it once was.
To sumerise - Loved the Hotel, Skiing, peaople and of course the country. Planing on returning next year (same Hotel).

PS. if your going soon, dont become obsessed by snow reports and conditions, cause you'l have a fantastic time whatever the snow.
forgot to say we booked through Balkan Holidays. No problems at all. the Rep was always in the hotel reception went we returned from slopes. Very friendly and helpful.
Prices on every thing seem slightly higher. A pint of beer is about 2 lev (80p), a 12 inch pizza on the slopes is about 10 lev (£4). Its still cheap, just a bit higher tan last time.
