backpacker

Was wondering if some of you guys could help me out. I want to finish my time travelling Europe with a week or so snowboarding in Bulgaria at the end of January. Am wondering if there are any backpackers or hostel style accommodation available in any of the resorts? Am struggling to find any thing on the net and as I'm on a tight budget and travelling by myself well you get the drift.

Also I realise this is a loaded question (having read previous posts) what is the best resort for a young kiwi female who attempts to snowboard?
Thanks Gemma

re: backpacker

Hey Gemma,
you can find hotels around the most of ski resorts much cheaper as int he resorts.
For example in Samokov the closest town to Borovez. These Hotels are around 30 lev a night or lower for a room, the quality of these hotels are the same as in Borovez but costs 50 %or less. And the bus from Samokov to Borovez cost 1,20 lev last year. Even the other things as eating out and shopping will be much cheaper.
Or you can go to Maljovitza a smaller resort in the Rila mountains.

re: backpacker

Gemma,
I'm from Wellington, haven't been back for 13 years.
I was going to mention........but Sune has pretty much covered it.........I'm living in Samokov and my hubby travels up to Borovets pretty much everyday {1Okm} so if you need transport etc we are here.Skiing at Borovets is pretty good all round. If you need help with Hotels in Samokov, I pretty much know em all.
Where ever you end up, have a good one.

Thanks again Gemma
