if you pre book a lift pass for bansko with balkan holidays, do they give you the pass on the transfer coach?or expect you to get up at 8.30am, (after a late one in buz bar), to que in a bar like crystal holidays for an hour!!!!! (checked this befor booking it with crystal last year but they lied!!)
and is baulkan ski hire equipment ok?

As Balkan are the same company as Ulen who run Bansko it is likely you will get your passes on the bus, if not then you will get a voucher that you present at the gondola ski hire, and that ski hire will be exclusive Balkan... The kit is brand new... Normally they say 08.30-09.00, but i have staggered in at 11.00, and still got served (that was many years ago i will note) but i doubt it has changed... You should get a good discount over resort prices if pre-booked through Balkan...

The lift passes are not handed out on the bus, you have to meet at 08.30 at the Happy End Bar where you have your welcome meeting and you receive your vouchers for ski hire etc and you pay your deposit for your lift pass. Then across to the ski rental for boots and skis. The last 2 years we went to the meeting got our vouchers then went and did our shopping changed money etc then returned around lunchtime when the queues had died downre: balkan holidays
Good move, i must admit to not ever attending a welcome meeting, so i got my voucher on the bus, this was 7 or 8 years ago though... I know they will be keen to get you to the meeting, to sell you trips and the like, but its good because you will get info if you have never been here before... The deposit payable on the lift pass card is 5lv and is refundable at the end of your stay by putting the card into a machine in the gondola station. i always wish they would do welcome meeting on the coach trf
its the 8.30am bit i don't like!! will try to restrain ourselves on the first night
