hi there ,i keep hearing alot about the massive que problems for the lifts in bansko. This is abit worrying as myaself and 9 mates are going there in the first week of feb. Do they have any other way of getting up , I.E. taxis etc ??
When i was in borovets the year before at least if the lift was busy you had the option of getting a taxi half the way up.
if anyone has any tips or best times to get to the lifts etc that would be great.

You can get taxi to the top of the Gondola or you can contact Steve C at Earlybird to arrange morning transfers.I am going 2nd week in Feb and always get to the base station of the gondola for 8:10 and usually end up near the front. The Q then grows by the minute. People still try and get past, but with 9 of you spread across the Q your be ok.

The queues are only a problem at peak season. They won't be very bad by the time you go.

The holiday period was exceptional, don't worry to much about early Feb (unless there is no snow anywhere else)..
You can get a taxi to the middle station at Shilligarnika or to the top of the gondola, Challin Valog also...
We provide a service in our large bus where we can move 8 skiers with skis stowed in the back for 60lv, to the top of the mountain, takes about 25 mins...
But you should be ok queue wise, even at the busiest time between 09.00 and 10.00, there should be no more than a ...

Please do not judge Bansko by what has been seen this Christmas/new year, a number of things coming together caused mayhem, and the operators seemingly ignoring the signs exasperated the situation... I have never seen soooooooo many visitors at that time of year

thanks for your replys , ill just have to make sure my lazy arsed mates are up nice and early.i am looking forward to it and will take it as it comes,there's always the apres ski later in the day to cheer everyone up hey.hopefully we won't need a taxi but if we do were would we find or book you from Steve C , also whats the cost to the top ??
we are going to be staying in the gramadeto apartments , is that close ??
