HeyI am from Denmark and I will arrive in Bansko tomorrow. Can everyone tell my why there only are 3-4 slopes open. I think that there are plenty of snow right now?

I was down last weekend and despite looking good there is not much of a base on the lower slopes, as the nasty new gouges in my skis will attest. Maybe after this weekend there will bere: bansko open slopes
Jimmy, they rarely open more than a few slopes before the week preceding christmas. I have just checked banskoski.com and all the slopes above the gondola appear to be open except part of the tomba. The runs at chalin valog are not yet open and also the ski road (run 1) remains closed. As Mat says theres probably insufficient snow lower than the gondola at present, but plenty of slopes now. Enjoy

Jimmy, its snowing now... hard !!!!!!!! you'll be able to ski down the main street

Hi Steve CDo you think this snow fall will be enough to open the Bansko ski road into town from the top gondola or are we talking about a lot of extra falls for that to happen? Out in a few days and really enjoy finishing the day off with a good run down to town.

Dunno Sam, muffy and i were having the very same conversation as my son is out on Monday and he loved the ski road as well. We are so busy and have not had a chance to check... All i can say is we have had very low temps in the town for the last couple of nights so the cannons will be running... We have now 6-7cm of very light dusty snow on our balcony rail at the bottom of town, and its still snowing 
I would expect at least 10-15cm at Challin Valog, and its only 20.15, the snow is ...

Hi Steve CAny chance of a snow update? Noticed on webcam that most of the snow in the square has gone, did the good snowfall last night turn to rain?

Hi allI am coming to Bansko tomorrow. can someone please tell me what is going on with the snow. Here (in greece) it is almost summer again.
and the bansko forecast doesnt look promising...
