I found Borovets dirty andy seedy- the snow was also poor but this year we as a family are going to Bansko will I have to explain what a lapdance bar is again to my 10 year old or is Bansko free of such establishments?
Mmmm, well nick, depends whether you end up in Crazy Ladies apartment (jus jokin CL)
Bansko did have a Playboy bar last season but very low key, sadly it does seem to be the way of a lot of resorts in BG, hopefully this season in Bansko they will still resist the influx of such establishments...
Heres hoping.....
I was in Bansko last year, and whilst there was 1 Playboy bar, it is easily avoidable and not in your face like the ones in Borovets. Bansko is much more a true Bulgarian town, rather than a purpose built resort and is a much more attractive (and reasonably priced) place to eat and drink and to generally be with the family.
It's a bit limited for kids fun activities of an evening. There is a bowling alley, in the hotel Strazhite and several of the hotels have swimming pools.
Bansko is the best no competition, the playboy bar is quiet, and alot of pubs surrounding the area and in the old town are really nice.
We did go bowling on nite, which was fun they have a bar ther also, i asked for a double vodka and red bull and ended up with a massive glass of vodka, 1 measure is wot we class as double.
It is still a town under development but thankfully the new buildings are helping to create what I believe will be one of Europe's best ski resorts. We stayed in Borovets last year and understand that the SuperBorovets project is soon to be started to totally redevelop the resort - that's because unfortunately it needs totally redeveloping (in my opinion)
