pounds - for the sake of clarity, all amounts I put in were pounds. Again there is variation but the I have paid as little as 1 pound for a large beer, and as much as £10 for a small bottle!! On average 3-6 Lev will get you a large beer.
I usually take £350 and the odd 100lev from the last season, this should be about right. You say the Mrs is a bit timmid she must be from Coychurch, don't worry a night with Bobby & Kas will alter her.
I stayed at the Samokov hotel in Jan 2010 on a half board basis. I personally was happy with the food allowing for the fact I paid £450.00 for flights, transfers, hotel accomodation, breakfast and dinner. So I did not eat out in the restaurants. For lunch I would normally have a toasted cheese and ham sandwich for approx 8 lev. Each night I would drink about 4 pints of beer costing 16 lev. This seems to come to about 160 lev. This does not include any excursions, evening meals out, drinks with your ski instructor after skiing, drinking in night clubs to the early hours etc.
I would say to allow for unpredicted spending of £150.00, bring the total up to £295.00 for two people.
Obviously if you are a couple who wants a quality a la carte meal every night, this will bump up the amount of spending money.
Along the same lines with this topic, I am coming out to Pamporovo end of Jan with Wife & 3 kids but a little concerned about what the food is like for little ones. 2 of my kids are fussy as hell. We are staying half board at the Snezhanka and wondered if they do cater for all tastes or are the rumours from others on ski sites correct about a sub standard quality & cold?
