Hi . guys i need some advise.My husband and i[god i sound like the queen] want to try sking this year, we holiday in bulgaria in the summer so we thought why not winter. which resort would you reccommed to complete novices, one of which is a complete wimp and does;nt like heights! me.thanks in advance

I have been to Borovets (albeit a long time ago) and Pamps (2004). Took kids to Pamps to learn to ski and am going back in Feb 05. If you don't like heights you may be in for nasty surprise where-ever you go, but at least in Bulgaria other daytime activities are affordable (ie spa, massage etc), so if you end up not skiing you can still enjoy yourself.And then of course there's the nightlife!! (Much better in Pamps I found).

Hiya Star, we only been to Borovets, so cant comment on the other resorts, but all have there own reasons for going to each, you must like bulgaria from you going in the summer.Borovets was good for starters good instruction, easy slopes and then progress at your own rate, wife and kids ski'ed i ride a board, the ski equipment was good,no big qeues for lifts, depending on when you go,

I also am not great witht heights but manage to ski fine I just try to keep off the single chair lift!! so I have company Its well worth over looking your fear. We go to Pamparovo and this will be 3rd year and found tuition really good will find if you look in brochures Pamps really good for first timers as you will know Bulgaria is cheap so if not sure it's a good place to try it as it won't cost a fortune to enjoy the apre ski if you don't take to sking but if you just relax and can laugh ...

Star,Last year I took my family to Pamps for the first time to learn to ski. This was a great experience, totally recommend it. I can only speak for Pamps, but would say the slopes are nice and the instructors patient. My wife really struggled on day one, but with help from the instructor she got better and better until she was confident enough to ski the mountain top to bottom. Dont let anything hold you back from this wordferful type of holiday.
