bigfoots

I wonder if we can hire bigfoots or mini skies (don't know if that's the right word) in Borovets.

re: bigfoots

You can, but the quality of the ones available last year was rubbish so we didn't bother. In fact, the quality of the skis and boots we hired from Borovets (the hire place at the main cable car station) was terrible and it has put me off going back. Ruined the weeks skiing for all 6 of us. And don't bother attempting to change your hired gear. They just look at you as though you're trying to be Franz Klammer and are so above their stuff. No, I just want a ski that's seen wax at some point in the last 5 years and one that hasn't left half of itself somewhere on the mountain.

(I'm expecting the usual torrent of abuse over this email because it's anti-Bulgarian but it's a fair comment on my experiences with Borovets. I've also spent 3 weeks in Pamporovo and can't speak highly enough of that place but I won't be returning to Borovets.)
