Ok it's time to ask some possibly stupid questions.
We are first time skiers to Samakov hotel, Borovets. February half term.
We have boots! is there locker room for boots or if we store the boots in our room, do we walk through the hotel in ski boots or socks?
Secondly I have 2 boys, 16 & 13, blue to red run skiers. I am not sure if they should wear a helmet. If others wear helmets it will be easier to persuade them to wear one, I would wear one, I'm old enough to see the common sense in ...

Just go to some of the ski or snowboard forums and show them some of the injuries that can happen, that may persuade them or then again put them off altogether. Helmets are becoming more and more common place now so they won't stick out if they wear one. You could always persuade them with the helmets with inbuilt earphones for their mp3 players.
A young boy died in Canada earlier this week. Boarding & went into a tree, he was wearing a helmet but not a ski/boarding helmet. We have just bought our for this season, they are the trendy thing to wear now. And safe, I bumped my head last year and it was so painful, I wouldn't board without wearing one again.
Wear ordinary footwear to walk through hotel and carry your boots (if you get boot bags, you can stick all your other stuff like gloves and hats in them, you can also put your other fotwear in them while you ski).
When you get to the ski hire place you change into your ski boots, put your other footwear in your bag and leave it there while you ski.
Make sure you take your bots out of your bag when you get back to your room and let them dry out overnight. I don't think hotels allow you ...

I wouldn't let my children ski without a helmet. Do let them cycle without helmets???? Far more likely to have a skiing accident than a cycling accident I would think.
