Hi, I don't want to cause offence but I have to disagree with your post. Although I live here, I never come on here and be biased saying how great Boro is- I simply give an honest update - good or bad, and have reported the conditions for the last month and agree runs have been closed...but to say that conditions are getting worse by the day, I don't agree with. They are definitely not ideal, but far better than they were 2 weeks ago... Also the Rila drag opened again today (after being broken) and yes, Yastrebets 2 is shut, but I explained that was due to a competition and will open again on saturday... It is also snowing lightly still and slightly heavier at the very top, which is set to continue. I am not saying that will 'fix' all the problems or that the forecasters are right, but it is definitely better than the concrete and mud of a couple of weeks ago....
im coming to borovets on the 6th for the first time, so im new to all these disscussion boards etc, im not put off by some of the bad press boro is getting but just would like to know why the runs are closed? is it due to bad weather, lack of snow or "technical reasons"?
still really looking forward to boro, anything will be better than my local 100metre run at hemel
There are no 'technical reasons' now as the 2 lifts which broke down were the Rotata (fixed last week) followed by the Rila drag, which was fixed today. The top runs are closed due to not enough snow, although it is snowing in Boro now and was snowing at the top today - no way of knowing at the moment if it is still snowing up there as the forecasts aren't always right...
If the predicted snow comes then you will be fine if not, you will be limited but the Rila and yastrebets runs ...
Hi,
There are no 'technical reasons' now as the 2 lifts which broke down were the Rotata (fixed last week) followed by the Rila drag, which was fixed today. The top runs are closed due to not enough snow, although it is snowing in Boro now and was snowing at the top today - no way of knowing at the moment if it is still snowing up there as the forecasts aren't always right...
If the predicted snow comes then you will be fine if not, you will be limited but the Rila and yastrebets runs currently have very good skiing...
