this is my last comment on borovets, i am sorry if you do not agree that borovets is crap and not worth going to, for proof of what i said ,not the bible of resorts just my honest opinion look at the first choice tour operator brochure of the people on the slope. all out of their depth on that slope, myself as a basi instructor and trying to promote the sport would never take a novice on that slope , in fact that slope is to the right of the hotel rila and is classed as a red , just look at the moguals forming, if anyone wants an honest professional opinion just ask i will look in from time to time .
another thing the rental shop wanted to set my wifes binding setting at 7, she is infact 3.5-4 din setting , good job i knew. (i am a salomon trained technican)
enjoy skiing i am waiting for the italy web site to get up and running, a much much better resort and do not forget arinsal in andorra if you are a novice

Are you here to convince people to go against their beliefs who have already been and KNOW what borovets is like?

And on your thoughts of the red being infront of the rila, so what? people can read maps and find out where to go for the green runs, the ski tuition ppl guide ya all the way anyway... so again nonsense u speak.

HAVE YOU ACTUALLY BEEN? talkin about vets u say your wifes bindings blah blah set wrong, sounding like youve been, but previously you had been talkin about "moguals" in a picture?!?!? are you on crack and imagining all these things thats happened? pictures change day to day but thats not the point, what you on?

Coming from a self claimed professional, u sound lame... stick to Italian discussion forums then mate and stop ragging the resorts on this 1.

what you want to know about borovets, the crown exchange places, the shops in the mall from the rila , the lap dance bars, the blue house pub. the hour queue for the gondala; beggers outside the rila, horse drawn carts, disco under the rila, security guards by the lifts in the rila, ive been there & are never going back & i could leave you wanting with my knowledge of skiing, i used to race, but now teach (basi) or by the way i am racing in cervina next year (italy), my aim is to promote the sport and give people the best skiing to suit them, and borovets is best suited to top intermediates not novices.

I have to say that I don't really agree with some of what Snarfacus has to say, I like Borovets and I have skiied at lots of different places. However I do have to agree that it might not be my first choice as an absolute beginner. The problem is that as it is cheap it encourages those that haven't been before to have a punt. As a good intermediate I enjoy the fact that lots of the slopes are empty but if I was in a beginners lesson I think I would be quite quickly demoralised at the sheer weight of numbers especially on the long green when it crosses the reds and black and traffic jams build up. There is some really good easily accessed off piste in Borovets but that really is of no use to a beginner and I have to say that there are better resorts in which to learn to ski, they just might not be as full of character. And do you all really think that people make fake skiis??? It's too niche a market to make serious money, not like DVDs, so I would think that you could buy skiis and boots with confidence at reduced prices. Not so sure about the clothes. Please feel free to ask other questions and I will answer as honestly as I can.
