Bulgarian people are very friendly and the service in our hotel last year was excellent. The food was good (if a little 'samey', which we didn't mind). Drinks were great value - miles cheaper than anywhere else we've ever been - and they do some excellent wines. We drank far too much though!

Agree - never had a single problem when I have been. Remember, they have taken the trouble to learn English - the majority of people love it if you take the time to learn just one or two words of their own language!

Not just English PatMan - people we spoke to were fluent in German, French, English and Russian! It's only we Brits that expect everyone else to learn our lingo!

too right, thats how it should be!!! but why do they learn it?? cos brits is best...what with the empire and all that. we brits have our own universal language on hand signs and stick "eo" on the end of everything...bloody disgrace it is...
