Id advise buying a good pair of boots to start with- you can hire good enough skis and it`ll be the skis that get trashed in crap conditions. comfy boots go a long way towards a good ski holiday.
example 1: buy ski`s go up north-hire boots (uncomfy)- crap snow-trash skis-go home with gouged skis and sore feet
example 2: BUY BOOTS- go up north-crap snow-trash skis-go home with comfy feet no giving a toss about the skis- can hire skis OR buy a good set for holidays up the bulg and hire for ...

the choice is yours but as a miserable scots bastrad i know my idea makes pefect monetary sense.

170 cm in a bit long unless you over over 6ft tall, buy boots first if you have not got any

re: buyin ski's

I have a pair for sale. They are Kastle Carvers Aerosped and fully serviced with Atomic bindings.

I've only had 3 years and worn them 3 weeks but, like cars, I get bored of them quickly.

If you're interested let me know. They're in Bulgaira (mate's an instructor in Borovets) but I go out again on March 5th.
