buyin wax

im off to pamps 4 weeks today and was wondering is it worth buyin wax here or to wait till i get over there i was also going to buy a few other bits and bobs like a new leash and sharpening stone

Hi,

Different waxes are used for different tempertures and snow conditions. Something you wont know until you get there.

Also to Hot Wax you'll need a waxing iron. The often called "Express Wax", with you can easliy apply cold onto your ski/board are ok, but they dont last long and dont perform as well either. About half a day and its gone. A good Hot wax should last a couple of days at least.

So after all that, my advice is get someone to Hot wax your board there. You'l know the ...

Just take a travel iron. You will look smart on night out. Check temperatures over there and you will have rough idea what it will be like and can take apropriate wax, if in doubt take a few diff types.
