buying a digital camera

Hi,

1st trip to Bansko on 4 March. This website is whipping me into a right frenzy and have been inspired by pics on earlier postings to get a digital camera for trip.

Is this the sort of thing i could I pick up cheap in the resort or is shopping for digital goods in Bansko a waste of snow/scoop time? (only want to if there's a good deal in it).

Thx

I don't remember technology being a big thing in Bansko... GREAT if you want ski/board gear. I would recommend getting something over the internet - at least you'll be able to send it back if there are problems with it.

re: buying a digital camera

Buy before you come

A lot of electrical goods/luxury goods are more expensive and less choice than uk

re: buying a digital camera

We bought a digital camera especially for skiing last year.
We bought the Casio Exilim and had excellent results.

Took over 250 pictures.

It was one of the slimest lightest and smallest on the market at the time which is impotant when you want to take it up the mountain with you.

Took some stunning photos,

There is a wider range available now and it worth checking out reports in Which Camera etc before you buy.

re: buying a digital camera

Twice as much money over there!!
I bought a Minolta Dimage X60 (5 mill pixies) with 256Mb card & 2 year warranty for £200, an absolutely stunning little camera, and smaller than a pack of fags. I usually use a pro 35mm SLR, so I have very high standards!
