all i ever read is canada this, guarenteed great snow that,,, shame the olympic mens downhill posponed because the snow /ice has turned to slush.. i thought bulgaria was the only place with dodgy snow
Recently been to canada and i thought there was plenty, indeed loads up top- but the lower slopes at Whistler were slushy later in the day- the locals said this was poor snow by usual standards for them. Then again it was light rain at lower levels a few days but locals again said this was the norm for Whistler though?
Theres still plenty of snow though!
Snow not to Canada usual standards this year apparently, BUT after 6 seasons in Bansko. I didn't care. Good skiing everyday, but more importantly no queues!!! Biggest one was about 10 people long - and that was when ski school started!! No getting up at 6 to join the gondola hell there!!!
I would have to agree Julie- thats the one big advantage of a huge resort with the infrasrtucture like canadas resorts have- you do pay for it though, hence us back to budget again next year!- at least next year i can afford a few beers!
Whistler has 2 meters, Blackcomb whistler has no bad snow, it's got glaciers, Cypress mountain has bad snow because it's low down. The reason for this site being chosen is it's very near to Vancouver.
Just been watching the olympic mens downhill on BBC2- funny to think i was skiing there just a couple of weeks ago (not as fast as them guys like! lol)- seems to be plenty of snow- though it was held back from Saturday to get the pistes right.
