cash machines

does anyone konw how many cash point machines there are in borovets are they easy to use or are you better off taking cash

Better to take cash sterling is fine
Change it at the banks or Hotels only NOT on the street
There is an ATM by the Gondola lift but as always get a reciept to check when you get home.
Credit cards are not much good in Bulgaria they dont like them and thus dont accept them in many places.
Take enough cash for the first couple of days till you get settled.
Everything is easy to find Borovets is not that big.

we found that the machine up the road from the gondala was not only brand new and easy to use, but the exchange rate was better than the hotel, from memory i think it restricted you to about £100 per day, which was a right b****r for us champagne lovers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why not just post all your money up to me and then you wont have to worry about it. ; )

Champagne in Bulgaria is 3 quid a bottle. Are you saying that you 2 can down 30 bottles a day???????? Strewth, I better come with you next year

you get charged £1.50 for each transaction and when i was there at christmas i got 2.69 levs to the £ from the atm but 2.75 when changeing cash.in the rila hotel they were only paying 2,4 lev to the £ .so use the banks when posible .

the cash machines are a bit flaky, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

you're limited to 200bgn per transaction, but you can simply put your card in again and take another 200 out straight away.

i'd take sterling with you personally, no old notes though
