never used a chair lift before, only been to neiderau, so drags and gondla
looking into both boro and pamp at the moment, swaying towards boro as shorter transfer, (solo skier, get bored easily) and it has a gondla!!! altho its alot more expensive.
i'm a bit useless when it comes to lifts, tend to make a ass out of myself, my question is, do they slow down to get on and off?
sorry if this sounds a bit thick! just wanna find out as much as i can, before i make a decision on which ...

the chair lifts in pamps were extremely slow and easy to get on and off imo you shouldn't have a problem and at most resorts lifties will slow the lifts down if you signal to them you need them to
In Boro, 3 out of the 4 chairs are very slow and if you're struggling they will slow them down further
Sitnyakovo Express - really slow
Yastrebets Express - really slow
MARKUDZHIK 2 - really slow (this used to be a drag but was changed last year to a 4 man chair and is absolutely fine now)

Hi,

The only one which can sometimes get you round the calves is the 4 man chair opposite the Rila. You just need to keep an eye on it and slow it down with your hand first so your legs don't take the full impact, but again, if you're struggling, they will slow it down.
I really don't think you'll have a problem with any of them.
The main chair lift in Pamporovo (3 man) has an automatic clutch system fitted to it which means the chair almost stops when to get on and off. Very easy and stress-free.
Most of the Bansko chairs are detachable, apart from the three man and the Bunderitsa to Stara Pista four chair.
These two have moving belts at the base so reletive to you the chair is going slowly. To get off you need to push yourself to get out of its way.
The non detachibles in Boro and Pamps are probably the same. Even if you do get stuck at the top there is an emergancy stop.
I have made an ass of myself many a time on a chair lift. I got hit in the back of the head by one in Val D'Isere - luckily I was wearing a helmet! Best tip is to put your hand on the seat as you get off and let it push you forward - that way it can't hit you!
go to pamps snow is so good lifts easy to get on and off took my son never ski before no broblems so well organised it does take 3 and a half hours transfer but well worth it just got back from pamps yesterday x
