change ova at budapest??

hi ya,
There are 6 of us going and we couldnt get a direct flight as prices were beyond high!! we have a indirect flight changing at budapest, has anyone eva done this?? is it a hassle??

we are a group of 7 . We always fly from Malta to Sofia via Istanbul.The plane stops for a couple of hours. They take us off the plane , walk around the airport , and back on the plane.Bloody stupid if you ask me , but it's always worked for us

Did the trip last weekend for the same cost reasons. Total flight was only 1 hour more including change. On the way back got upgraded to business class.
