I spent last Christmas in Borovets because I have a house nearby. The thing about that time of the season is that being early you cannot guarantee snow. This is the same story in the Alps and in North America but some resorts are more snow-sure than others. We had a great Chritstmas with enough snow to build snowmen and to sledge on but there wasn't really enough snow to ski and most of the pistes were shut. The real snow came on the 30th of December. This year however you don't know if there will be a big dump on Christmas eve that will provide you with the best skiing of your life, early season is always a gamble. There is a great atmosphere in Borovets maybe a little boisterous at times but go with an open mind and you will have a great time. There is more chance of skiing than if you stay here!!!
