I had to do it. Happened to be in Sofia today and felt that I had to go skiinig and tell you about it. So I went to Vitosha. The snow is nearly all melted but right at the top the small drag lift was working, so myself and another 20 or 30 mad people managed to do some skiing. It looked like the last day of the season, in fact it looked like summer weather, and flowers and trees were blossoming. Hot and sunny. Maybe another season has gone, waiting for the next one. Did I enjoy it today? Every minute of it.
Might still surprise you with another message tomorrow (official holiday here), but I am taking one day at a time.
thank you for the tip. I think I might do just that tomorrow. Apparently one drag lift is working ("provided there are enough skiers"). I hope not all of them have gone to the dry slopes (see David Canski above) as there is no comparison. It is about 500 meters higher in Borovetz, there should be even more snow. Will keep you in the picture.
sorry about the digital camera, did not have one. But it is not as beautiful as it can get, just very different, see my next posting. Quite enough snow at the top, but last day today. Grateful I did not mis that, it was great.
