This year I have bought a body warmer to ski in because I got too warm last year. What do I wear under the body warmer though? Will a jumper or fleece be ok or does it have to be waterproof????
Its looking a lot colder this year, if your going to be wearing your body warmer I would suggest wearing in under something thats windproof/waterproof. I can't see you getting any benefit out of wearing it over a jacket.
It's advice that's really difficult to give Jo.
In years gone by I have skied in Pamporovo with just sallopettes and a t shirt. Other times it has been below
-20 so the variation in clothing required can be massive.
Take whatever is needed for both conditions and just assess it on the morning before you leave for the slopes. You can always take off what you've got on, you can never put on what you haven't got.
Sound advice Pete. I feel the cold easily and the first year we went to Pamps it was -22, so I needed all the layers I could fit on! Last year it was a lot warmer and I ended up in just fleece and sallopettes. This time I'll be taking the lot - better to carry a few extra kilos than freeze on the slopes!
Hi Jo
We've just come back from Borovets and to be honest one long sleeved jersey top underneath your ski jacket is sufficient. We were skiing from top of gondola at 2000 metres. Hope this helps.
Julie
My last trip to Borovets was realy warm, we sat ouside with t shirts on at the cafe at top of the gondola. However on the last day the temperature dropped to -20. Be prepaired for everything is my advice.
The lifts are the coldest bit. I had a neckwarmer that could be pulled up and I wore my hood as well. If your hands are cold, grasp them beteween your legs while you're on the lift. Once you start skiing, you'll stay warm
