cold feet

Hi
I've been skiing a number of times, including Borovets 3 times, but each time suffer with really cold feet, I have bought 2 pairs of soloman boots, the most expensive/most highly recommended socks I can find and still suffer terribly with the most painfully cold feet - so much so I usually only ski half a day as I can't stand the pain.
Any 'serious' suggestions would be most welcome - as its coming between me and my skiing

re: cold feet

have you seen those insoles that have a small battery pack that actually heat up? quite expensive but if you suffer really bad it could be worth it? have seen them in snow and rock.

re: cold feet

Usually cold feet whilst skiing is not due to your socks or a thin boot liner but is a symptom of badly fitted boots.
If you have your own boots it is worthwhile taking them to a decent bootfitter and spending some time with them. A good footbed (eg superfeet) often helps and if you have a low volume boot try not to krank the bottom two buckles shut too hard as this will press down on the blood vessels on top of your feet, reducing circulation and causing your cold feet.

You can (as Lord William said above) buy aftermarket products which try to warm your feet up, but they are not treating the actual cause.

Maybe Salomon boots are not the correct shape/volume for your feet. When you bought them did the salesperson/bootfitter remove the liner, get you to put your foot into the pleasic shell and measure if it was the correct length? If the shop does not do that (when buying new boots) walk out and try somewhere else!
