hi im looking for a value ski hol and have got slovakia and bulgaria,i know bulgaria quite well,but not slovakia has anyone been and how does it compare thanksre: comparison slovakia and bulgaria
Kate--you have an interesting narrow opinion of BG--when did u last stay there--1980? Hotelsa re generally perfectly OK as a minimum, and many are very good. The half cooked disgusting food--maybe you were rummaging in bins or something.....certainly the food eating out that i have experienced over many BG visits (excess thirty times) is fine. Of course I do agree that not everwhere is perfect and some places would fit your description, BUT they are the exception and not the rule.

I do have to agree with you ref beggars and prostitutes in SOME areas, but certainly they are not a 'problem'--just a minor hinderance at times in certain resorts (NOT Pamporovo)

'Kate' is not a fan of BG, its well documented. Ive just come back from Borovets, and its something completely different in the summer, lot of football teams for some reason, must be summer training, theres riding, jeep safaris, off road tours, clay pigeon shooting, proper hunting, target shooting, fishing lakes and rivers, and the scenery is breath taking, and the airs fresh as well, so 'Kate' dear, dont be so biased chill out and enjoy.

I'm just back from Borovets too and it was fabulous. Great scenery and nature and the weather was super too.Loads of walks and hiking to be done. I was surpised how busy the resort was
