comparison

Just been comparing holidays between ours & our friends, we went to borovets at the Samokov over Christmas , they went to La Thuile in the Hotel Planibel in Italy.
Both hotels were 4 star. Our food was barely edible when warm, they enjoyed five course Italian food with no criticisms.

We suffered pistes that were cram packed , their photos showed hardly anyone skiing on pistes twice as wide as anything we could ski on.
Over 50% of the slopes were unavailable all week , they had full piste opening all week.
We queued at every lift for a minimum of 5 minutes, at worst 1 hour for the gondola, they queued at worst for 5 minutes.
Overall cost of our holiday for 3 £1600, theirs £2300 for 4.

Guess who came back thinking they had the best holiday ever.

Can someone remind why Bulgaria is so good for skiing holidays as it may have passed me by.

Whilst we had a good time, we feel a bit cheated with the skiing and conditions (people were lovely) - Maybe Pamporovo is better? I have come back feeling that i've skied for a third of the time compared to previous years. We have decided to get a cheap deal in February to Italy or Austria. Would be extremely disapointed if this had been my only chance to take time off work, but as we both work for ...
