I have seen this TV program about card cloning. The crooks add a card reader and a mini camera to the real cashpoints to capture your card details off the card and record you typing the pin in. Best thing to do is always cover your hand whilst typing the pin in. They still get your can details but its useless without the pin.

re: credit card fraud

did that - still got my details - my card issuer was brilliant they lost the money not me total of 20 x 200 levs. i do not know if there are money changing kiosks in the area, but again do not use them - the rate they put on the board outside is not what you get when you change - if you do get a good rate - then you could get monoply money so it would not be possible for us brits to know the difference. it is to be expected when these local crooks see us rich brits arriving in droves
sad ...

sad because its a great place to go - cheap - good beaches in the summer and hopefully lots of good skiing in the winter - sorry forgot about the cheap beer.

re: credit card fraud

There was a poster outside Barclays Bank showing examples of these. Seems that they are fitting a false keyboard as well. Watch out in the UK as well.

Cheers

re: credit card fraud

Fraud is against the bank not you - they are not taking your money its the banks. But you may be asked to prove that is was not you who made the withdrawals, which is easier than it might sound. If you still have your original card then you have no problem if someone uses a clone - but obviously you are responsible for not being careless with your PIN (eg writing it on your card). If you don't have your original card then fair play - you should have taken care of it and/or reported it ...

Funny thing that, they are always on about "protecting yourself from fraud", but in reality they mean "protecting us from fraud" - not that that isn't sensible either.
