currency denominations

When I was out in BG last I look a bunch of £10 and £20 notes and exchanged into Lev there. I take it that they will change £5 notes as well?

Also, are they still as fussy about the appearnace of the sterling notes i.e. they can't be torn or written on in any way?

Please and thank you! Very Happy

re: currency denominations

Yes all you say still applies.

Scottish notes are not accepted, but English fivers are fine.

Banks don`t seem to worry to much about the appearance of the notes, £5.00, £10.00 and £20.00, some local hotels and bars do, don`t know why ??
Best to take crisp (freshly printed ??) notes unfolded in a full length wallet, they could not ask for more, could they ??
Be aware of being given fresh crisp Lev in return other than in a bank, there is a bit of counterfeiting going on, not aware of it in the mountains but i was warned in Sofia..

Change safe, have a good one (off tomorrow you ...
