Think it could be lev - but as I mentioned cant recall if I spend GB pounds in the restaraunts last year !!!

Leva is accepted on slopes surrounding Borovets. If you offer Sterling anywhere, it may be accepted, but you're likely to get an unfavourable exchange rate.

Best advice, stick to ATM's, banks, hotels - in that order -for exchanging money. Offer sterling or Euro's as a last resort unless it's a small amount and you're otherwise stuck.

Eyes also light up when Euro's are mentioned.
