currency xchange in Borovets

I am going to Borovets on 1 March and see from other comments that the exchange rate at the moment is about 2.80. If I bring sterling is that the rate I'll get or is it likely to be less allowing for their profits?

Going rate in Boro as of today is 2.56

2.61 the best rate we had last week - just be careful which place you go in to - I got done the one day and only got 2.11 and I should know better as have been there loads of times - just make sure you check the rate before you hand over your cash if you are going to use the booths in the village - otherwise use the banks - undeer the Flora are pretty good.

QUICK WORD OF WARNING...

We were approached on the street in Boro the other day and offered 400 for 100 pounds - I am certain that nobody on this boad would be daft enough to fall for that though.

Thanks to everyone who replied. Good advice. Think we'll get it here, the rates in the UK aren't that different. I've seen 2.48 in M&S

Our friens were told by their rep that the exchange rae in their hotel was as good as anywhere

i went to the one that the reps told me too. a little kiosk down where the main shops are(there are 2 of them but cant remember name)asked for 250 quid worth when i got home they had taken 326 quid. wasnt happy.

The best rate i found was in the bank next to the reception in the Flora! We were there at the end of January and the rate in most places in resort was 2.50-2.55, but we got 2.62 in Flora

Your thinking of change+ which are the ones in the street. Suprising you should say that you got ripped off by them because ive allways found them to be very good over the years. And a word on locals approaching you in the steet offering you good deals, Dont even think about it they will rip you off good and proper allways use the booths.

Only use booths the have the Crown motive displayed. Others are as bad as the street guys and the security guard is there only to protect the cashier who rips you off - not you.
