I'm going over to Bansko next week - what currency should I TAKE, EUROS/uK POUNDS OR LOCAL - anu advise would be appreciated

Bulgaria will not be in the EU next week so don't take Euros (unless you already have some) UK pounds are fine and exchange in Bansko. Maybe take a few Leva for the first day. ATMs in resort operate with credit card.
