Will be the Lev. You can change before you go if you like I do. M&S have good rates. If you take sterling and change when you get their only do so at your hotel or bank.

hello,
I went to bulgaria 2 weeks ago and theres a bank at sofia airport giving around 2.9 to the pound . you can get slightly higher if you go into sofia city or in resort. I found the cash points limited me to £60. transfering money in england gives about 2.6.
if your going to take out sterling and change it at the airport then don't change your money at the baggage claim and customs area walk through into the arrivals lounge where the car rentals desks are and theres a bank window ...
