Somewhere at the back of the toy cupboard I have a pair of 185 Atomics – circa 1988…and every now and again I still take them out for a little stem turn and side slip action. With every season that passes I see fewer and fewer fellow flat skiers, even in Bulgaria – the land that ‘this years model’ clearly forgot.
Are there anymore ‘strictly old school’ aficionados still around, or am I the last of the dinosaurs…?
I sometimes ski like you. I have a pair of Fila ski. They were the top model back in 89, and now they are worth 6 times more then when I bought them. They were only produced in 1000 pair.
Sometimes its fun to ski the old fashion way, and then I use them, but I aint bringing them down to Bulgaria. Dont wanna take the risk to destroy them in rocky slopes.
Have a nice ski holiday. :-)
I still have a go on an ancient snowboard 1710 Sims Blade, it is just so fast and made for icy piste, holds an edge like no new board, it does it like the old days.
