re: doncaster airport

Pam - My kids are all 'grown and flown', but I'm a teacher so I've no choice about when to go either. I've no problem with reasonably behaved kids, but some parents do seem to abdicate all responsibility for their kids' behaviour when they're on holiday.
We've five - and we've had some lovely holidays with them all, but they weren't allowed to run wild and annoy other people.

Hi Lizzisnow- I'm with you 100% and badly behaved children annoy me as much as anybody. I know I was probably being oversensitve to the original comment, but it seemed as though all children were being tarred with the same brush, which is a little unfair.
Anyway, getting a bit off topic here- hope all have a great holiday Very Happy

So sorry. I knew I should have behaved with my post!! It was said very tongue in cheek, I'm flying with my two children on that flight, who are also very well behaved. It always amuses me though to listen to the non-parents complaining about the kids on the flight. My favourite is when they say that the child behind them kicked their seat for the entire flight. Now, I know that some kids do find this a favourite sport, but do the adults in front ever think that little kids have ...

Now, I know that some kids do find this a favourite sport, but do the adults in front ever think that little kids have little legs that dont fold nicely over the seat like adults and their feet naturally stick off the end of the seat in close proximity to the seat in front. So..... I really don't resent kids being on the flight and I wasn't tarring them with a brush, I was just being a bit wicked!

Hi meggyntom- apology accepted, as I say oversensitive!!! I agree with all you said, there is a world of difference between normal kiddy behaviour and badly behaved kids eg crying toddlers on a plane, it's whether it irritates you or you sympathise, being totally thankful yours are now past that stage- I'm in the latter camp. My girls are now 9 (tomorrow) and 11 (hormonal I think- a whole different kettle of fish!!) and very excited about our first skiing trip. I promise if you are sat ...

I promise if you are sat behind us, we won't glare at you if our seats get kicked!! Actually hoping to see lots of other kids there, hopefully newbies like ours and then they won't feel so intimidated.

Have fun
Pam

Pam - no offence - but it will be you who is intimidated when the little sods whizz past you at 30 mph having only been on the sodding skis for 60 mins! How do they get the hang of it so quick! The kids will have a fab time, TDx

Very Happy I've had giggles all day - it's very secret squirrel in the office today, all quiet and library like, and it brings out the worst in me. I WANT TO BE DISRUPTIVE! Very Happy

re: doncaster airport

I do have to say that the only kids that have ever got on my nerves during skiing holidays were my own...that's because as a parent it's hard work at all times, even on 'holiday'. Mine are all grown up now and in the scheme of things they were pretty good kids. It's actually the parents (of the spoilt 'princes' and 'princesses') that irritate me more...you know the parents that do as their told! Having said that, spoilt princes and princesses aren't allowed to go skiing because they might ...

Oops, that turned into a bit of a rant, and was completely off the topic of this thread...I should now delete and not post it but i can't because it took so long to compose...I need to get on those slopes!

re: doncaster airport

so many well behaved kids, why do I always end up in the resturants and public transport with the brats, although personally I blame the parents, sorry but i do why cant they just tell them off, on the flight back two years ago, two kids in front were falling out almost at fighting point and there dad just read his book, until the airhostess spoke to him.

agree with tufty they will show you up, mine made a point of letting me know how bad i was and much better she was doing.

re: doncaster airport

The only times I could guarantee that my boys (three of them) would not be fighting was when they were skiing!
I also agree with tufty...within a day, all three of them were giving me advice on my technique!
